This is my second blog about last weekends trip to Reno Nevada and writing about it brings the part of life I spent there back to my soul! I know that sounds a little poetic for a simple fashion and lifestyle blogger but that is how I feel about Reno! I have to say that until I experienced this city myself, I never knew it will come out to be so beautiful and thought before that Reno is all desert! My friends who have been to Reno told me that they liked the city but knowing that it is not one of the top/famous cities in USA, I couldn’t imagine how gorgeous this city really it.

It was quite late as we were on our way to Reno and we decided to go there on a weekend after my work day. We left from San Francisco city at around 4:30 PM and drove non – stop to Reno as we were supposed to stay with friends and we din’t wanted to wake them up by walking into their house in the middle of night! Also, we carried a bunch of food with us so that we will be good for a long drive. The drive from SF to Reno was longer than usual because of Good Friday weekend (although it wasn’t a long weekend for me).

On our way as we crossed Tahoe, I noticed mountains full of snow and there was snow on road but I am sure Tahoe and that route we took gets even more snowy in winter! As we reached our destination and it was night time, I could still see the beauty of Reno from our friends large window but din’t know in light this city will absolutely dazzle me! That night, we spent with wine and some fun talks by their fireplace and went of to bed just to wake up to a breath taking view next morning!

Talking about Reno, I am not really sure where to start or what part of city to admire more as everything about this city felt welcoming to me. To start with, weather that day was to die for! It was neither cold nor too warm but a perfect weather to be anywhere. We started our day with a trip to Reno’s downtown, Reno University and then headed to Virginia city that really blowed away my mind! I also discovered that I wasn’t the first Mumbaikar to be there. There was a big map inside a shop where you can put a pin on dart to locate the city you are originally from. And I was happy to notice that three Mumbaikars had been there before me!

Coming back from Virginia City, we explored the beautiful spring colors and cherry blossom in Rino city. Some people were Kayaking in the Trucky river. I thought the river flows inside the city only but came to know it was famous and hundred miles long. In fact we walked by Trucky river in Tahoe and figured that there was a town named after it. I was so jealous of people who lived at this place in Reno as they had the best view of mountains full of snow, a beautiful river and not to forget city lifestyle. I would love to come back to stay longer than just a vacation or even retire in Reno city! One thing that boosted the thought of retiring in Reno is because this city is so less expensive that San Francisco and I felt a sense of peace here. After a long previous day drive and early start of the day, I needed my favorite latte and there was this beautiful cafe that had outdoor seating. So I enjoyed my coffee by the Trucky river with an amazing view of beautiful city on a beautiful day!

On a note of closing this post, I have to say that Reno Nevada is one of the cities that I fell in love with and probably the only city after San Francisco where I can live forever! Also, I must thank our friends Jacob and Alicia for hosting us. We wouldn’t know about Virginia city or wouldn’t get a local Reno feeling if we were here by ourselves. You guys were great hosts and amazing tour guides XOXO
